London Marathon

The Brit press is making a fuss about the magnificent Paula Jones taking a pit stop on the way to her record-breaking third win of the London Marathon.

I had a similar experience in an earlier London Marathon, but lacked her self-confidence.

On streets lined with cheering spectators, and absent any toilets, or even convenient cars to hide behind, I clenched jaw and sphincter & pressed on the final 8 miles in great discomfort. Charging across the finish line, I grabbed my medal & sprinted 400 yards to the nearest toilets.

The spectators cheered this unusual warm-down routine.
