Amnesty International Promoted To Kierkegaard

Following its lies about Gitmo, we have moved Amnesty International from Criminologist (We Are All Guilty) to Kierkegaard (Minor Criminal) in the ETF Ecosystem.

Specific criminal acts by Amnesty:

1. Falsely describing the United States as running Soviet-style "gulags" at Gitmo and elsewhere. Then, after being contradicted by the likes of Natan Sharansky, who was in a real gulag, admitting:

"Clearly, this is not an exact or a literal analogy. In size and in duration, there are not similarities between U.S. detention facilities and the gulag. ... People are not being starved in those facilities. They're not being subjected to forced labor."

2. Falsely characterizing Donald Rumsfeld and others as "apparent high-level architects of torture" who ought to be arrested and prosecuted. Then, on their US boss being asked for evidence, stating:

"It would be fascinating to find out. I have no idea ..."

The US can look after itself when it is so libeled. However other countries, such as Israel, suffer prior prejudice and so are vulnerable to Amnesty's lies.

Accordingly, DU will henceforth treat statements by Amnesty as politically biased lies, and we will no longer use them as an information source.
