The Palestinian Train Wreck

Israel continues to make nice to the Palestinians at the direction of the US. But, as usual, appeasement is not working. The administration should stop supporting Palestinian killers and crooks.

Here's what's going on.

The US is supporting Palestinian regime that just released 2 men who earlier this year killed 4 Israelis and mutilated 50. The Brit experience with appeasing the IRA is that releasing killers just encourages more killing.

The Palestinian Authority on Saturday released two men jailed in connection with the February 25 suicide bombing at the Stage club in Tel Aviv, in a bid to persuade Islamic Jihad to abide by the unofficial truce with Israel.

The US is holding the Palestinians to the (non-existent) IRA standard & so causing the transfer of power from moderates to fascists.

PA officials on Sunday attempted to soften the hardline approach PA Foreign Minister Nasser al-Kidwa had presented on Saturday regarding gunmen.

On Saturday, Kidwa declared that the PA had no intention of disarming Palestinian militias as demanded by the road map.

The US is ignoring the constant Palestinian missile attacks on Israeli civilians.

Hamas mortar shells and Qassam rockets killed three civilian workers (two Palestinian and one Chinese) and injured an Israeli woman and her two children in an attack that struck a packing plant in the Israeli settlement of Ganei Tal in Gaza and the Israeli town of Sderot yesterday.

Both Israeli and Palestinian analysts suspect that Hamas’s continued use of mortar and Qassam attacks against civilians is an expression of the group’s displeasure at the cancellation of local election results in localities that favored Hamas and the recent postponement of the Palestinian Legislative Council elections.

“Hamas has repeatedly failed to respect a fundamental rule of international humanitarian law by attacking civilians and civilian objects,” said Sarah Leah Whitson, executive director of the Middle East and North Africa Division of Human Rights Watch. “It is unacceptable for Hamas to express its unhappiness with the political situation by firing on civilians.”

This will end in a war for Israeli survival and the probable destruction of the Palestinian people. The President should back off.
